Saint Joseph’s College of Maine Online Nurse Practitioner Programs

Saint Joseph’s College of Maine offers a wide range of fully online nursing programs designed to advance the careers of registered nurses. These include master of science in nursing (MSN) tracks in adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP), adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner (AGPCNP), family nurse practitioner (FNP), and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). Additionally, the college provides post-master’s certificate programs in AGACNP, AGPCNP, FNP, and PMHNP for nurses seeking focused specialization and expanded clinical expertise.

SJCME is a Catholic, liberal arts college founded on faith and academic excellence. Although it began as a women-only institution, Saint Joseph’s became co-ed in 1970. The online nursing programs are delivered asynchronously and are made to be collaborative to help build relationships between faculty and peers. Students are assigned a student support specialist and develop one-on-one relationships with faculty.

Students learn from experienced faculty members with strong clinical and leadership backgrounds who integrate real-world challenges into coursework. With education partnerships offering discounted rates, employer tuition reimbursement options, and competitive tuition, Saint Joseph’s College of Maine delivers accessible pathways for nurses to enhance their knowledge, impact patient outcomes, and advance in leadership, education, and advanced clinical practice roles.

The flexible online format allows students to balance their studies with professional and personal commitments, while these NP tracks include mandatory on-campus skills sessions to ensure practical competency.

Upon graduation, students are eligible to take their respective nurse practitioner certification exams through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The NP programs through Saint Joseph’s College of Maine are accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). SJCME is located in Standish, Maine, and is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
