Felician University Online Nurse Practitioner Programs – FNP, AGPCNP

The School of Nursing at Felician University offers three online nurse practitioner programs with two specializations to New Jersey residents: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP). The school offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, an RN to MSN Fast-Track program, and a Post-Master’s Certificate program. These programs provide 100% online coursework with three campus visits, and preceptorships at approved facilities local to the student.
Family nurse practitioners serve populations across the lifespan from infancy to adulthood and geriatric patients. Adult-gerontology nurse practitioners serve patients from age 13 through adulthood and late adulthood.
Nurse practitioners are prepared to manage acute and chronic illnesses through testing, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans including prescribing medications. In addition, NPs focus on disease prevention and the overall quality of life. NPs work with other healthcare providers to best serve the needs of their patients. Work locations may include private practice, public health care clinics, primary care clinics, urgent care facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare situations, government facilities, long-term care institutions, and research centers.
The online coursework, local preceptorship, and three campus visit requirements make this a flexible program for nursing students in New Jersey who have other work/life commitments. Graduates of Felician NP programs will be prepared to take the national certification exams for their respective specialization through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Felician University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Felician University is located in Rutherford, New Jersey.
